So, what does tanalised actually mean? Tanalising involves impregnation with Tanalith E - environmentally friendly wood preservative - under controlled conditions in a vacuum pressure timber impregnation plant. Once impregnated into the timber the treatment become fixed into the wood and cannot be removed. Tanalisation leaves a green finish to the treated timber and the residue is not harmful. Tanalising wood gives it a long life by giving long term protection from damp and fungal and insect attack.
